Sophomore Year

Take PSAT: Sophomore Year is the practice one to see where you are at.

Sophomore Year

Get to know your teachers and other mentors. The better they know you, the better they will be able to write you letters of recommendation.

Summer between Sophomore and Junior Year

Prepare for the SAT/ACT.
Take prep classes (Khan Academy), do practice tests, also take PSAT for National Merit Scholarship.

Junior Year

Take first SAT/ACT

Junior Year

Explore options and figure out what you might want to study. Do research and take classes that you are interested in.

Junior Year

Consider what summer programs/activities you would be interested in. Consider taking summer classes, or a summer job related to something you're interested in.

Summer between Junior and Senior Year

Research colleges, financial budget and scholarship options

Senior Year

Take second SAT/ACT

Senior Year

Apply for colleges

Fall: Early Decision/Early Action

Winter: Regular Decision

Senior Year

Apply for scholarships/financial aid

Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) Opens October 1st.

Application closes June 30, some aid is distributed on first come, first serve.
